Hi, I'm Caleb.
I'm a software engineer currently working as a full-stack web developer with a server-side primary focus. I'm also an Air Force veteran and reside in the Midwest with my family of five.
I most often code in Java, MySQL, JavaScript (vanilla and React with/without TypeScript) and HTML/CSS (LESS). I've also coded professionally with PHP and Ruby and have dabbled in a number of other languages.
If I have a JavaScript feature question, my go-to resource is generally MDN (check it out--they've done well) #notsponsored
My life in a nutshell.
While growing up, we moved a handful of times, and I lived in three different states before graduating high school. Although home-schooled for a chunk of elementary, middle school and high school; I loved being active in sports and extracurricular activities at my local public schools.
After graduating high school, I earned a BS in Computer Science (with a minor in Mathematics) from the University of Nebraska - Lincoln. I married my wife during this time and commissioned as a Second Lieutenant upon graduation (through the Air Force ROTC program).
The day after my college graduation ceremony, my wife and I set off for California, where I completed five months of Air Force technical training. We then moved to Wyoming, and I served there for nearly four years before moving back to Nebraska to settle down.
While in Wyoming, we had our first child; and we added two more after moving back home. Upon moving back to Nebraska, I began work as a full-stack web developer and have been doing so ever since. Although I have worked on a variety of front-end and back-end projects, my recent projects have involved primarily server-side development (Java and MySQL).
The Main Thing
The most important <Component /> of my life is my relationship with Jesus Christ, which impacts every aspect of my life from how I work to how I interact with my family. Make no mistake: I'm quite far from perfect, which is exactly why I need Jesus!
Colossians 3:23-24
Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord and not for people, knowing that it is from the Lord that you will receive the reward of the inheritance. It is the Lord Christ whom you serve.
Ephesians 5:25
Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her...
